KIA, firm to start up in May in Pesqueria, NL
The Korean automaker, Kia Motors maintains its plan to start operations in NL in May, a18_04_kia even though the State Government has not materialized commitments acquired infrastructure. Kia Motors also said that comply with the requirements of employment and currently requested the mix of employees is more than 94% Mexicans and the rest foreigners.
The Korean automaker and the Government of NL are facing, after the local administration of the independent governor, Jaime Rodriguez, initiate a review of the incentives that the previous administration of Rodrigo Medina grant to Kia.
In November 2015 the technical secretary of Sedec, Gregorio Canales, said the commitments made by the local government last amounted to 11 billion pesos, 11% of state debt, which totals more than 100 billion pesos.
According Canales, representing 28% of the investment of 2.300 billion dollars announced by Kia in August 2014, almost 6 times more than it permitted by the Law for the Promotion of Investment and State Employment, which is a maximum of 5% of the total amount exercised by the company.
